Gathering at The Common Table – Review | @Common_Table

The Common Table in Uptown Dallas

This month’s gathering was another success. The Common Table hosted the event and I am happy to see that they sponsored a great evening.  Owner, Corey Pond, was very accommodating and provided us with a background on The Common Table. This laid back yet hip Uptown tavern is located at 2917 Fairmont St in Dallas. Nestled in the buildings of uptown Dallas this establishment caters to late 20s and 30 year old clientele.

The Common Table has several things going for it in Dallas. One, the menu is eclectic and inviting. Created by Ben Ackland, of The Ivy in London fame, the menu inspires London yet does not overwhelm with European flare. I absolutely enjoyed the crab fritters and the crispy duck. The grilled cheese sandwich with Canadian bacon was uncompromising in taste and decadence. Each item on the menus has a drink suggestion to compliment the dish.

Two, The Common Table has its very own Cicerone, Jeff Fryman, of which there is only a handful in Texas. Cicerone “has been chosen to designate those with proven expertise in selecting, acquiring and serving today’s wide range of beers. Only those who have passed the requisite test of knowledge and tasting skill can call themselves a Cicerone.” -Cicerone.org. The beer menu at The Common Table is extensive the staff is more than willing to help you select the perfect beer for your evening.

Good friends coming together.

The Common Table staff was happy to have us there and offered drink specials for our tweetup even though there was no happy hour during the time we were there. It was a great evening with people coming to their first tweetup and getting to know professionals in different areas and making wonderful connections.
