Dinner at Kenichi – Review

When I think of sushi, I think of Kenichi in Dallas. Located in Victory Park, Kenichi is hip and hands down one of the trendiest sushi hot spots in Dallas. I enjoy Kenichi immensely. I often feel like I’m transported to Tokyo if only for a moment when I’m there with friends. It’s no surprise that we are here often and probably considered regulars by now.
Kenich specializes in sushi and Pan-Asian cuisine. The menu has been meticulously designed by Master Sushi Chef Kiyomi Sano and Executive Chef Bodhi Durant and the restaurant is known to have one of the largest selections of sake in the world. Very few sushi restaurants in Dallas could contend with Kenichi.
The restaurant normally is rocking to the latest top 40 or dance tracks which fits totally with the vibe set by this establishment. The staff is young and stylish yet knowledgeable in Pan-Asian cuisine and the beverage or sake that would compliment your meal. I have yet to experience a bad meal or drink at Kenichi.
We always start with spicy edamame and a bottle of sake. This never fails to get one’s palette energized and ready for the sushi or sashimi to come. As the evening progresses, the conversations get more involved and the crowd gets bigger. It is often that one will catch a local Dallas athlete or television star visiting Kenichi. The atmosphere is laid back and no one takes a second glance. It is definitely a relaxing and personable atmosphere.
Always leave room for the dessert here. You will never go wrong with a hot lava cake or green tea ice cream. Kenichi is best enjoyed with friends or on a date to impress. Kenichi is Dallas night life.
